The currency is the West African CFA franc (XOF). Cash is king, especially outside the capital. ATMs are available in Bissau but can be unreliable and may not accept all foreign cards. It is highly recommended to bring enough Euros to exchange upon arrival, as it's the most easily convertible foreign currency.
