My phone is locked to my home carrier. Will I still be able to use an eSIM On Trip?

Updated April 22, 2026

For your eSIM On Trip to work, your smartphone absolutely must be 'carrier-unlocked.' If you purchased your phone directly from a mobile provider (like T-Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, etc.) as part of a contract, it's very likely locked to their network. An eSIM is essentially like adding a second 'line' to your phone, and a locked phone won't allow this. Please contact your home carrier to confirm your phone's unlock status before purchasing an eSIM On Trip.
